Busy, Busy, Busy lions on the GO! May 18th, the Lions Convention was held at Dover, Delaware, with 4 Lions representing the Damascus Club Lions  – a great time to renew friendships of the past and meet new Lions, all sharing the same goal,” WE SERVE.”

On May 22nd, Lions Dale Ryan and Chris Fletcher co-chaired a team of Lions at the first time Relay for Life event at Clarksburg High School – Clarksburg High School Leo’s and Lions working together.  The event was held on Sat. May 22nd. Rain storms didn’t dampen the spirit of 30 plus teams helping to fight the battle of cancer. A total of 36,000 thousand dollars plus was collected by supporter of this worthwhile cause. Thanks to everyone for helping.

White Cane Weekend on Friday, Sat. in Clarksburg and Sunday at Giant  May 28-30th.Thanks go to  Lions Shyue and Su Haung for  chairing  the Clarksburg Branch Lions white cane fundraiser and all other Lions collecting to make  this possible. Thanks to Lion Mike Bowersox for making arrangements and to Lion Wayne Marr for his help with equipment.

Activities in June will be Lions helping with Little Bennett Park’s Baseball Beginnings Event on Sun. June 13th from 1pm until 4pm. Program will be to celebrate the Wims’s Field with a marker and present its history. Enjoy hot dogs served by Lion Dale Ryan and the Clarksburg helping hands 4Hers. Also a baseball game will take place by the Clarksburg Baseball team. For more info, ask Lions Tuck Woodfield or Joann Woodson. Come join everyone for this Fun day.

Clarksburg Heritage Day Event, sponsored by the Clarksburg Historical Society Inc. is set for Sat. June 26th in the Historic District of Clarksburg, Md. Tour the town by trolley transportation to all activities from 11am until 4pm. Experience the history by tours of historic buildings and music of the Jimmy Purdum Band and other groups along the streets, with vendors, kids activities, food and more. Lions will be making their presence known to the visitors by having a membership table with flyers to let everyone know “what Lions do.” Thanks to Lion Chris Fletcher for heading up this project. Thanks to Leo’s of Rocky Hill Middle school and Clarksburg High for volunteering your help.

The Clarksburg Branch lions would like to thank the parent club of Damascus for all the support they give to us in the year.” It’s Great to be a LION” wherever you are!
