After performing some 360 flips, 50/50 grinds and an ollie the Damascus Lions Club settled down to renovate the Damascus Skate park.
Eight Lions, 2 Leos, and 2 Friends showed up to the Damascus Recreation Center skate park on a misty Saturday morning. We cleaned and scrubbed the sides of the ramps then painted them in a light grey paint. Lion Tony spent 2 Saturdays before June 17 replacing rotten plywood on several of the ramps. I’d like to thank the following people for their help on Saturday; Lions Tony Barry, Ray Molesworth, Bob Snapp, Mary Francess Gosnell, Joe Howerton, Marcia Holpuch, Charlie Holpuch, 2 Leos Sara Chepkoit and Aura Rodriguez and friends of the Lions, Dave White and his son Viper.

SKATE PARK HISTORY
On April 20, 2011 the Damascus Community Recreation Center had the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Damascus Community Recreation Skate Park. The Skate Park was inspired by Ryan Didone, 15 year old son of Montgomery County Police Captain, Thomas Didone, who died in a car crash in 2008. Funding for the skate park was funneled through the Damascus Lions Club and we are responsible for maintaining it. (View Photos from the Dedication here.)
