Highway Cleanup Fall 2016

November 5, 2016

By Lion Tony Barry

On Saturday morning, October 29, seven members of the Damascus Lions club and two volunteers in service participated in a trash cleanup of Valley Park Drive. The Lions Club “Adopted” the one mile stretch of Valley Park Drive between Ridge Road (Rt 27) and Woodfield Road (RT 124) as part of the Montgomery County Adopt A Road (AAR) program. Have you driven by and seen the signs Montgomery County has posted on our adopted roadway which clearly identify the DAMASCUS LIONS CLUB as being responsible for the roadway? Three large garbage bag of trash were collected. The following Lions participated in the event on Saturday morning; Ray Molesworth, Joe Howerton, Tom Jackson, Warren Schwab, Tony Barry, Charlie Hertel and Wayne Marr. A special thanks to David White and son Viper.
