The 100th Centennial Challenge celebration asked for the Lions to help reach the challenge by serving more the 100 million people by June 2018. Since July 2016, we have reached and exceeded that goal thru local and worldwide service! What’s next?
The Challenge continued by asking, “Can your Club make a difference by participating in …
• Engaging In Youth, support youth of community
• Sharing the Vision, participate in vision screenings and educational events
• Relieving the hunger, improve healthy food access
• Protecting our environment, make our community a better place to live in
The Centennial then challenged us with some Legacy Projects …
• Raise your Community Visibility
• Provide a Community Gift
• Make a Community Impact
Now, how has the Damascus Club met this Challenge?
Did you know that …
• To raise Community Visibility, we placed a park bench in town in the front of the Druid building. We made a donation to have the water tower painted with the town name and Hornet logo.
• In providing a Community gift, we donated a Chrome book to the Clearspring Elementary School as well as books for students in 6 cluster elementary schools for the last two years. We have provided scholarships to students and supported community youth service organizations
• To make a community impact, we have begun the process to rehab the Skate Park at the Recreation Center that we helped establish in 2011. A Lions logo will be placed at the Skate Park with our contact information.
