Two blood drives took place in May; one on May 12th at The Damascus United Methodist Church where the American Red Cross collected 32 units and, one on May 28 where INOVA collected 54 units. Our total for the month was 86 units. Sandi, from INOVA, has mentioned that Damascus is becoming a partnership city for their blood drives.
Thanks to the efforts of Lion Alice Denell, an INOVA blood drive is scheduled for July 25th.
I have talked with St. Anne’s Episcopal Church about hosting a blood drive. I have been told that it will discussed in the next few weeks and that they will get back to me.
I want to thank the following people for working the registration table, canteen, setup, signs and offering to make calls on our behalf: John Washington, Bill Mahylis, Ken Phillips, Pattu Durairaj, John Holpuch, Alice Denell, Charlie Hertel, Joy Schwab, Mike Thornett and Tom Jackson.
