Fellow Lions, we need to keep several Lions and Partners-in-Service in our thoughts. Lion Marcia has forwarded e-mails concerning Lion Mike Thornett and a link to his Caring Bridge website so that you can keep up with his progress. Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Also extend prayers and well-wishes to Lion Bobbi Warfield for a speedy recovery from hip surgery; Partner-in-service Gail Davidson who has been in the hospital after having some TIAs; and let’s not forget IPP John Washington.
You should have received your dues renewal form. Please get your dues sent in as soon as possible. If you have not received your renewal, please let Lion Marcia know.
January was a relatively quiet month compared to the hustle and bustle of December. We showed our appreciation to those involved with the Holiday Baskets with a luncheon at Gladhill’s and at our only dinner meeting in January. Several Lions participated at the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo. (More to follow on these two activities later on in this issue.) The Road Cleanup that was scheduled had to be cancelled because of the snow. Speaking of which, will the groundhog see his shadow? Will we have MORE snow days! Or is spring right around the corner. I’m ready for spring, what about you? Our first dinner meeting in February will be on the February 5. Donation forms for the in-house auction will be available. (Start collecting items to be auctioned). There will be a blood drive on the February 7. Our dinner meeting on February 19 will also be a board meeting. Please make plans to attend and see your board of directors in action. Check your Lions Activities Schedule for March. March 5 will be our Prospective Member Night. Do you know someone that you would like to invite to this meeting? Let them see what Lions are and what we do. Saturday, March 16 is the Pancake Breakfast. Start inviting your family and friends. March 16 is the in-house auction. This is our biggest club fund raiser and it keeps our dues to a minimum. It is always a fun night.
That’s all for this month’s edition. My apologies if I left anyone or anything out.
King Lion Chris Fletcher
