Members, the Board of Directors is proposing to adopt this constitution and these bylaws to govern the Damascus Lions Club. The club has never had a set of bylaws. These bylaws are patterned after the LCI model bylaws, adapted to Damascus Club considerations.

The Club Foundation has a separate set of bylaws reflecting its different purpose, which were adopted when the foundation was incorporated.
The board is requesting that members review this document and forward any comments to Tom Jackson (wtjackson@alumni.unc.edu) on or before Sunday, July 6. All comments received by then will be considered by the board at the board meeting on Tuesday, July 8. After considering and incorporating the comments, the constitution and bylaws will be put to a vote of the membership at the August 5 meeting. Members will also be given the chance to vote on the bylaws by email in the week before that meeting.
