Lions Mike Thornett, Sue Suddath and Mary Frances Gosnell participated in the Read Across America Day at the Cedar Grove Elementary School on Thursday, March 1. Lion Mike read to Kindergarten, Lion Sue to Second Grade and Lion Mary Frances to First Grade.
Reading Specialist Diane Gordon planned a great day for guest readers, volunteers and the students. The students were excited to have guests in their classroom and asked a lot of great questions. They listened attentively to the stories and discussed this books with enthusiasm.
It was very rewarding to participate and interact with the children. Reading Specialist, Diane is looking forward to attending the Lions Youth Recognition Night in May when her students will tell the Lions about the books that the Lions purchased for their reading class.
